Mystery Infrastructure
I’m not sure what this piece of infrastructure is, but it’s possibly associated with the nearby Svartsengi geothermal power plant. Lavas from the February 8th eruption flowed a stone’s throw away, just northeast from this curious structure.

Looming Kirkjufell Mountain
Everyone takes this photo with the Kirkjufellsfoss in the foreground and Kirkufell Mountain looming in the distance. It was snowing when I took mine.
Gunnuhver Geothermal Area
One of the facilities of the Iceland Deep Drilling Project (IDDP-2) is in the background. The village of Grindavík lies roughly 12km to the east-northeast.
