Smith Rock Sunset

I visited Oregon once again, this time for the August 21 solar eclipse. The spectacular, red sunsets we “enjoyed” were the worrying results of several huge, nearby forest fires.

Pretty Ugly, Pretty Sad

Maybe, in its original Spanish, it meant something endearingly poetic. But the translation is deeply unappealing. Probably it was trying to convey a sentiment like, “Oh, you wish you could have this!” But even that’s pretty obnoxious.
