Same tree as previous image, and essentially the same composition. I think it works better in colour. In black-and-white there’s not enough tonal separation between the sky and the tree for the latter to stand out sufficiently. But I do like both.
The jury is still out for me with the Holga. I am getting some shots I like, and there’s no denying that the camera is lightweight and a real joy to carry around. I ask myself if this particular photo would have turned out better with one of my other cameras, and if I’m honest, I have to say probably not. The Holga’s vignetting and edge blurring really focus attention on the subject in a way that a better/sharper camera might not have. Mind you, I considered those factors when I took this photo.
This was my first time shooting Kodak ProImage 100. Very muted greens. Interesting.
Hard to get this shot without getting just a little wet. Worth it though.
I finally decided to take the plunge and try out a Holga. Not sure it’s my cup of tea, but I did get a couple of shots I liked.
