Beacon Lodge

Front steps of the Beacon Lodge, 30 Douglas Street, Victoria. B.C.
(Camera: Olympus Stylus Epic; Film: Kodak Ektar 100)

One of the oldest and most interesting buildings in Victoria. The first part was put up in 1883, but it was extensively renovated and expanded to become the Tourist Lodge 1945. In 1949 the building was again renovated and expanded, but didn’t arrive at its present configuration until 1962. Since the 1970’s, the Beacon Lodge has operated as an apartment building.
